Dauphin doesn’t think of his instrument as a rhythm keeper. The rhythm is already there – and he prefers that it is not competing with his voice – instead, supporting, offsetting rhythm & harmony and playing in the spaces. Dauphin’s music is driven by curiosity, a place where a love of poetry, rhythm and harmony intersect. His music is about form and colour; brought to life by the pulsing beat of a creative mind. 

Here you will find powerful undercurrents that stem from improvised jazz and soul music traditions,  shifting to simpler forms that find contrast in nuanced texture rather than harmonic movement. The lyrics tell stories of love, loss and transformation.
